I got a Century FAL from a local gunshop a few weeks ago and just had the opportunity to shoot it the other day.  Groups at 25 yards were pie plate sized.  I checked the bore and it appears that where the muzzle device was pinned on the pin sticks into the barrel.

Anyone else run into this before?

I guess the only options are to rebarrel or have the barrel cut back?  Any suggestions?

the first thing I'd do is take that pin out and remove the brake.  If it still won't group, then maybe cut the barrel or put on a new barrel.

This is good advice.......and a good first post.

How long is your barrel? If you have enough length, I'd cut it and rethread it while I could. Then put a proper brake on it, like the one's by FALfiles member "Moses". The overriding concern will be the length of the barrel after cutting, just make sure that its more than 16" to keep out of trouble and you're gtg!

I hate those damn pinned brakes with a passion.

Be advised: They don't always come off "neatly."

Best way to take off most any brake in my opinion is with a lathe. No beating or overheating that might affect the crown etc....just turn it off and clean it up. I have done many AR, Fal and even a Daewoo barrel that way.

I wouldn't fire that gun again until i got the obstruction out. Removing the pin may not do it as there may still be a bulge or at the very least an irregularity in the rifling that i would think could affect accuracy. I like the idea of having the barrel cut and recrowned at the proper location. I seem to remember you can't just cut a barrel anywhere... something about the rifling.
