What should I look for is the headspace is good on my newest build if I get a case separation with every shot no matter where the gas is set?

headspace is most likely the culprit, next to that, something messed up in your chamber.

crap, thats what I thought.  It closes on a Go and does not close on a NO GO.

It should be pointed out that headspace merely sets the overall dimension from bolt face to datum line in the chamber.

It is possible for headspace to be correct and for there to still be too much case wall exposed at the chamber mouth.

I would not expect this on a stock bbl/rcvr combo, who assembled the rifle?
