Tried posting this up at FAL Files, but I'm not getting much help...

I bought my FAL a few years back and just never seem to get the thing out.  Cost of ammo, and overlap with a few of my other guns = the FAL gets ignored.  I've never learned that much about them either and now I have a friend that is interested in buying it.

So, seeing as how I don't know much about them, what do you think this would go for?  Gunbroker prices seem to range from 700 to 1700...  I paid $1000 for it originally.

Imbel lower SG-58 built by Mike Ottley - former master smith at HS Precision.

US Parts - Gas piston, vortec flash hider, mag follower and floor plate, forearm, grip, stock and cocking handle.

Thanks all!  I appreciate any help here.  Here are some of the original pics the dealer sent me, I haven't done anything to it besides fire ~100 rounds through it and clean it.

I'd say $1000-1200 is going rate.

DSA still sells STG-58s for $1150, and AIM recently sold brand new one's for $1100.

The thing about FALs is...they have always been "expensive". So when the AK/AR market exploded after Obama, the FALs market went up also, but not on the same level. Key reasons being, alot of people don't even know what a FAL is, AND the cost of .308 ammo. Not to mention fals were already $1000 guns before OBAMA, bottom line is, people are not paying stupid prices for FALs and they can still be round reasonably priced.

I just bought a FAL last week built on a SA kit with a Imbel gear logo for $735.

That being said, $1000 is a reasonable price, and if you think you can push it above that, so be it.

Hope that helps.

If you plan on selling that rifle on the internet, the key is to sound like you know what the hell you are talking about.

Write a THOROUGH description.
Especially - every US part must be accounted for.

What the hell is "vortec?"
Do you mean Vortex? It makes a difference!

That handguard doesn't look like any US handguard I've ever seen.

Your pics pretty much suck.

With new pics, and a well-written description, you should be able to get upwards of $1000 for that rifle on Gunbroker.

As mentioned, selling to a friend.  Also as mentioned, those aren't my pics.  Thanks for the sales tips!

1,200.00 would be fair.

Good luck!
