White tails with an OD green SA 58, 16" fluted bbl.  I love to hunt with it, but also really like my FR-8.  Kind of a toss up.  I carry the FAL till I get tired of the weight, then go with the old Spanish bolt rifle.  I usually use plain old Rem Core Lokt 150gr (I think).

stainless 16" DSA Stainless.  Hog/deer/coyote.  Heavy to tote around the swamps all day, but it 's my favorite and I shoot it well.

Perfect incliment weather rifle in my book.

I have and did it for 10 years, I used it for deer hunting and never hunted from a stand.

I always got deer, and carried it all day long, drive after drive.

Nothing ran away after being shot, except one time when it went through the side of a tree, and deflected hitting the deer in the flank in front of the rear leg.

Even got a deer running broadside at full speed, with a heart shot, it measured to be a 211yd shot.

I missed on the first shot due to me firing just a fraction of a second after someone a long way away had fired, and the deer bolted as the bullet arrived, the second shot went under by just inches as he bounded, the third dropped him on the spot.

I was leading him by 1.5 body lengths.

I use Hornady Ballistic Tips, 150grain.

there was a stainless DSA up for sale over on the FALfiles a few days ago. I kinda lucked into the rifle--previous owner had ghetto-koted it OD green.  I only found out for sure what it was after scrubbing it down with acetone

Personally, I didn't care for the brushed finish, and  I gave it a quick blast with ultra fine aluminum oxide to give it a matte finish--really took care of the glare/reflection, but it was a cast iron bitch to clean.....now it's GunKote Colt Gray.  I think I'll leave it alone....for awhile anyway
