Hi Guys, Along the same line as an earlier thread...has anyone had their para stock shortened. DSA offers the option. I have a para on order and am considering having the stock shortened an inch since I'm on the shorter side. For those who have one or have seen one, does the shortened para stock interfere with anything when folded since the buttplate position is different when folded? Is there a chance of the rear sight hitting my face with the shorter LOP? Thanks |

I shortened my stock, low and behold, before DSA offered it. I shortened it 1.25". Too much. I thought I wanted short LOP. What I got was a scratch in my prescription sunglasses from the rear sight. Yes, at that LOP it does slightly interfere with the operation of the rifle. I wouldn't want to shoot it with the stock folded. I didn't plan on it anyway so it was a moot point. I wanted the folder to fit in my BoB. FYI. The length from the buttstock (end) to the rear sight is nearly the same as an AR. The length from the buttstock the the pistol grip is what is slightly longer. Get used to your hand being slightly more forward than with an AR and you're fine. If you MUST have a shorter LOP, go adjustable. Long for prone, short for CQB. I gave up my folding option for an adjustable stock. AR tube mounted to Kaiserworks lower, CTR stock. THE best set up, for me. Added Matech rear sight and I've not changed it since. I've posted pics and description on here. Search user name. |

Thanks for the replies guys, I compared the LOP to the HK91 which is about 13.5". Shortening the para stock 1" would leave a LOP of 13.25" according to DSA specs so I don't think my face will be too close to the rear sight. I will have to be careful and not creep up on the stock too much with my cheekweld. I also don't plan on shooting with the stock folded so hopefully shortening the stock will not cause any problems when it is folded. Best |
