I looking to trade in my SOCOM II , and get some cash towards a DSarms SA58.

My SOCOM is in pretty good shape, next to brand new. How much do you think I should ask for?

And should I go 16 inch barrel or 21 inch Barrel on the SA58?

Lastly, do they make FAL Drums, or maybe BETA C-Mags. How about a conversion to make it belt feed, if possible (or Legal)?

As for the SOCOM, ask for it what you want... if people don't buy it, lower the price.  Check gunbroker or the EE here to get a ballpark of what they are going for used.

As for the FAL. .308 out of a 16" has an epic muzzle flash and is loud too.  The gun will be a little handier.  21" will be more accurate.  What do you want it for?  Some flashy blasting, or long range accuracy?

And for the magazine question:

Beltfed: ANYTHING is possible, with enough money... not sure if it is worth it.  There are no 'bolt on kits' that I know of, nor would it be easy.  There is nothing illegal about it, as long as you just get 1 bang per trigger pull.

FAL drums:  None that I know of.

FAL BetaC mag:  None right now. BUT, since they recently released the BetaC for the M1A, it shouldn't be too much longer until they make the feed attachements for other ,308 rifles (FAL, G3)

That being said, the Beta C mag for the M1A is over 10 pounds loaded... and FALs aren't exactly the lightest thing in the aresenal either.  (Also keep in mind that is $50 in 'cheap' ammo to fill that puppy up after the initial $250-$300 dollar investment.)

What's wrong with picking up 5 20 rounders for about 1/10th the price for the same capacity. (I think standard FAL mags are some of the neatest looking around)

DSA sells 30 round mags for the FAL... but I think they look a bit goofy and ungainly, and again .308 is heavy
