Well let's see your shooting... Have you done any accurizing or ammo testing? I have, take a look  The first 3 shot group was after boresighting, I had removed and replaced all screws in the B Square mount, and locktighted them. The second group is after adjusting my zero. The lone shot was a .270win model 760 I just checked with a shot, you can easily differentiate the size of the bullet hole ( I like my zero for the .270 to be good to around 350-400yds). wind was gusting, pretty crappy and cold out that day |

This one was a frankengun from Century I bought two, kept the more accurate one (3" groups) and worked on it alot. (around 1995) I can do this over and over, but it is not cheap. I shoot Hornady Ballistic tips @150grains. I have lapped the bbl with 1000 grit diamond paste (sparingly) recrowned, stoned and polished the trigger group, cut some off the trigger return spring, and tightened up every damn last thing that should never move. The pistol grip is customized by using butyl rubber fuseable splicing tape. It has a cheap ass tasco Mil Dot scope that is 2.5-10x42mm It also wears a Bsquare mount, and lots of krylon. The scope riser is a piece of rubber hose duct taped and electric taped to the stock until I was satisfied, then camo taped and painted. This is not a beauty queen, but a damn battle rifle I would not hestitate to use. I get lots of stares from fudds and gucci commandos  The rifle runs with the gas regulator opened up all the way all the time. It wears no flash suppressor. |
15-20mph wind? Last time I heard a guy claim that windspeed I was sitting next to him and the actual windspeed was 4mph. 20 mph winds are tough to shoot those groups with a FAL especially since you don't have windage dials that are minute clickable like the AR and M14. You must be a mathematical genuis! Oooops ETA: You have glass, sorry I should learn to read! |

Actually I do have an engineering and surveying background, have been a shooter since the age of four, and a skydiver to boot. I am pretty damn good at knowing wind speeds, besides having a caldwell wind meter and using the NWS broadcasts off my radio. Hey no offense taken, you should see my reactions to hearing people telling me what windspeeds they are witnessing

I will when the weather gets better, it's fucking cold. If I was hunting and moving no problema, but sitting still right now would suck ass. I will post pics of several clean targets next time I go. I will shoot AR, Grendel, FAL, Model 760, and Benelli with rifled bbl. I am very much looking forward to do this. It's gonna be fun.

That is a lot of shooting for session. I normally bring one or two and leave the Benelli at home. |
