Does DSA's Rail Interface Handguard provide an adequately stable platform for mounting a scout scope or red-dot sight?  Their web site says it's suitable for installing a scope, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that there are issues with scopes and red dot sights maintaining zero when mounted on DSA's rail handguard.

Also, DSA is the only source for FAL rail handguards, right?

Thanks in advance.

well....my rails have a little slop in 'em.  They wiggle about 1/64"....which aint' much, but it's enough to discount them for mounting optics--IMO.  They're suitable for bipod, VFG and a flashlight--that's about it--again,  IMO.

as far as I know, DSA is the only manufacturer of rails for the FAL.

The DSA rail I've got is rock solid. Bolts in tight up front, and the rear clamps down tight on the receiver. Maybe I got lucky, but no slop at all.

Mine go on solid and I would not have an issue mounting an optic on them.

I just cant get them centered.  They seem to "twist" a bit and do not sit level with the scope mount.  Which sucks because I cut the handguard ring off to get them on.

Mine too is rock solid.  I would have no problem mounting a scope to it if I had to.

DSA's 2-piece retainer ring is great should you decide you want the original stock back on. Simple to install and align.

My short system rails mount very solid, and are a lot more stable of a mounting platform than the, removable, railed top cover.

Thanks for all the responses.  It sounds like DSA's rails are worth a shot.

I went and checked my rails after reading all the positive responses...I have an aftermarket hand guard mount bolt on mine, and it's not threaded enough.  I put 2 washers on it to take up some space, and it's as tight as my free floated rails on the AR now.  I retract my previous statement about the rails not being stable--out of spec mounting hardware

However--I'm still not a big believer of using optics on a non-floated rail system.  Probably good enough for an Aimpoint/Eotech to hit Minute of Man at 300.

Mine are rock solid also.  The railed receiver cover also is very solid on mine.

I took it off to clean and it went back on solid with no problems.  It has (10) screws with (5) groove brackets for attachment.  I am impressed with the craftmanship from DSArms, so far.
