As the post states i have a Tapco dust cover the one that has the rail system. Point is i pushed the damn thing all the way to rear and i'm still having problems loading it thru the top with a stripper clip, The damn clip always ends up inside the magazine giving me a hard time to pull it out when it jams inside and it's hard as hell to push the rounds down with my fingers.

Any help will be deeply apriciated. Thanx guys.

I'm trying to use my FAL and visualize what you are saying. Are you inserting the mag into your FAL and THEN using the clip to insert your rounds? I've never considered/tried to do that. I put the clip loader on the mag, insert the clip into it and load the rounds with the mag not in the rifle. Even then I find it easier to load 5 slip the remaining 5 down and load them in a second step.

Could you post a pic?

Callgood--he has a "stripper-clip topcover"--like on the T48. You lock the bolt back and it gives you another 'loading' option like on an M1A/M14.
Are they Aussie clips?---I have found the rough park. finish on those to hinder their use and really hang onto the rim/case----just a thought, as I have never used the Tapco topcover you have.

I recall someone here said he used wax on his rough clips. I have some spray moly someone gave me, but I haven't had to use it. I'll try to find a stubborn FAL clip and use some to see if it (A) works- increases lubricity and doesn't cause other problems, and (B) remains on the clip so as not to be too expensive to use.

No,no, not a problem. An excuse to go to the range.

ETA: I saw some of the 5 round clips on the Tapco site. I can see where they would stick- rough.

I have heard of this problem with the TAPCO cover, but my 4 all work fine. Near as I can visualize, the stop bump on the actual stripper clip is slipping past its catch point inside the top cover. I would try to see where it is missing, or try different stripper clips.
I've had good luck with Aussie stripper clips.

The reason why i can not remove the magazine is becoouse it's a CA. legal FAL which has the magazine permantly attached to the upper there fore forcing me to use striper clips to load thru the top. I will try the lube maybe that might work. Will keep you guys posted.

Can you guys post some pics of your stripper clips just to compare to mine. I have no camera at this time so it's hard for me to show u guys mine, it could be that there's something wrong with the clips.

I have three different types of stripper clips; M-14, DSA and ones I forgot where I got.  The DSAs work the best and the M-14 ones work the worst as they are too loose for the TAPCO cover.

GNMN- DSA has 5 round and 10 round clips in their catalog. It may be easier for you to do 2x5. 5s are .35 each. 10s are $1. I know you can get 10 rounders a lot cheaper than that. I got some for about 10/$4.00.
