Everyone seems to be rejoicing that kit prices have finally dropped. Why have they dropped? Cause they aren't selling any of them! Why? Because there are NO receivers available to build the damn kits on! Well, not completely true. You can buy a $400 DSA (and by the time you buy all the other compliance parts and muck with it you might as well buy a complete gun from DSA) or you can buy a $150 Century POS. Great choices.

What is the deal? Yeah, I know the Imbels are banned from import. Enterprise has apparently suspended sale of their recivers to the public-they want to make complete rifles. That leaves Coonan as far as I know. I don't understand why it should take over a year to produce a batch of receivers! Surely it can't be that hard, assuming you have done it before-and they have. There are hundreds if not thousands of people who would buy decent receivers at decent prices if only someone would make them......isn't that how capitalism is supposed to work? Well, it's falling on it's arse here!

I'm apparently a mind reader. Just today ORF announced they will be building receivers for a measly $250. Life is much better.....course this assumes they will work. Have no reason to think otherwise.

Ohio Rapid fire is starting to produce type 3 receivers.

FT3 receivers

I have 2 kits and this may be a better option than Century and Entreprise receivers, but I'm waiting to see if these will have any issues.

ETA-just beat me.

This may breathe some life back into the FAL building business. I have a bunch of kits stashed....and have been waiting on a decent receiver to build with. It has been almost two years since anything has been available in quantity. Will be interesting to see how this first run goes.

The ORF receivers are not going to have the ejector blocks included. I have never had to instal an ejector block before so I don't know how hard that is going to be. I don't even know if I kept my old ejector blocks that came with my kits since they were full auto blocks.

They are saying that eventually they will offer them with the blocks installed. I may wait-not that it's hard to install one but it is nice to not have to muck with it especially since mine are full auto anyway. That way all the kinks- and you know there will be some, will be worked out as well.

Ejector blocks are easy, slide it up thru the magwell, line up the pin holes in the side of the receiver, then drive in 2 pins with a hammer and punch....all done.

Fret not regarding the full auto ejector blocks. There isn't any reason not to use them.
