Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - help...grip installation info

can anyone tell me how to install grips on an L1A1.  I dont have a manual.  When it was removed ,my wife (who loves to "help" ),simply pulled the old ones with the screw attached to it through the metal.  Any help is greatly appreciated  Thanx in advance guys.
