| I put an L1A1 on one of the Century Imbel hybrid receivers on an auction. The rifle is flawless throughout and has been tweaked and completely reparked by a well respected fal smith. ( Big Jim ). Now I listed it for $600 as a starting bid and have over $700 in it with US compliance parts. Is this unreasonable? I hate the thought of going lower, as that would be a hard hit given whats in the rifle. Thoughts? |
| $700 for an Inch Imbel doesn't seem to be too out of line. Am I understanding you when you say "Century Imbel Inch hybrid?" When you say that, I think Century built gun on an Imbel Inch receiver. If this is a correct statement, then I wouldn't go any lower unless you really need to move it. I had people's eyes bugging out of their heads when I wanted $450 for a Maadi long-barrel with 4 US parts already on/in it. Inch guns aren't that cheap; hang onto it, and wait. |

that sounds pretty darn fair to me given your description. you certainly couldn't assemble the parts for that much in today's market. you might do better /at least faster (especially depending on the compliance items) by selling off the parts kit, receiver & US stuff. |
| It seems to me that FALs are going out of wack regarding cost to build and cost to buy newly built. A new DSA STG 58 will run you about $900 without shipping and transfer. The parts are excellent and the DSA receiver traditionally brings about $200 more than an IMBEL (that about makes you even). However, yours is used, the DSA would be new. I dunno, market value will decide. Check out this link. Its supposed to be on an IMBEL. |
Despite what Fox News, Neil Cavutto and Bush say, the economy is in the toilet my friends. (Big fan of Cavutto and Bush for the record). I am a contractor, we are always the first to feel the pinch and lemme tell ya, the pinch is on. Your price seems very reasonable to me, I'd wait until March to sell it, nobody and I mean nobody is buying guns right now. Flame away at me, but this economy sucks, no one is spending a cent. |
I think that may be the answer. I have had an Uzi Pistol on the market, IMI, MAde in Israel for a month or longer now. My price is 999, all of them on gunsamerica are 1200-1400 dollars. Othe rthan one assclown, I have had little interest. Guns just arent moving. Which is actually fine with me. If I keep the Uzi thill '06, I will pony up and buy a suppressor with cash, and the Uzi can come off the market, and go back in the safe where she belongs. Dont sell your FAL anyway. Sell something worthless like an Uzi. ![]() |
| It got a bid at $600 this morning. I suppose someone who wanted it could probably get it for a little more than that. There are only 7 hours left in the auction. I figure I had more than $700 in it and since I bought it we got hit with the import ban on FAL barrels and lowers so there is what there is in the country. Can be seen at thegunrunner.com. Buy one of his calenders too if the wife won't freak over them. He has some seriously hot gun models and I don't mean firearms. |
