I a looking at getting a .308 of some color and was wondering hw fnicky the FAL is on changin Ammo  brands/countries .  Will I have to readjust te gas system everytime I get anew source of amo, or find a new great deal?

I don't think I've ever adjusted my gas system and have shot Hirt, SA, Port, Radway Green, and Aus.  Perhaps not the most efficent practice but the weapon went "bang" every time.

Gary

No change in gas setting on mine between Port, Aussie, and SA - I had to give 'er more gas to cycle Indian, but I'd strongly recommend against shooting that crap - I know I won't be again...

Adjusting the gas is as easy as loading a magazine, and takes about the same amount of time

It's not something you have to do on an FAL, it's something that you can do on an FAL - if you need to...

...something you can't do quickly on most other rifles.

It's not a liability, it's an advantage.

I couldn't agree more....

Based on shooting with a spotter behind me to watch ejection, and cranking gas until the action cycles hard enough to keep putting 10 in the same immediate area (instead of just reliably cycling but barely), SA/Port/Aussie/Indian/Barnaul have all run fine with no extra adj afterwards.

Anything that works reliably is good, but the "recommended" way to do it is to load 1 at a time with a mag in place, and adjust the gas to 1 click more than it takes to consistently hold the bolt open.

This is the recommended method to minimize the wear and tear on the reciever because of pounding on the receiver by excessive gas in the system.
