After the last trip with my FAL with all new springs and gas piston I still had malfunctions with all but one mag.   New mags were even run with fresh springs.

Once again, the round was being overridden by the bolt midway on the case causing a partial feed.  Retracting the bolt would allow it to chamber most of the time.   Ammo was Aussie and LC all gas settings.

I contacted Entreprise with the problem and they suggested the mag catch angle might be causing this.   I did notice a very small amount of fore-aft play in the magwell but nothing dramatic.   Is this simply an issue of swapping the mag catch with a new one or is there more to it?

I figure I'd give that a go before boxing it up and shipping it to Entreprise for warranty repair.  If it's more complex than a simple swap I'll ship it.   I'd rather not have to though.

FAL guys, help me out a bit?

When they said mag catch, did they mean the slot cut into the front of the mag well, or did they mean the mag release?  You can see if the mag release would help by pushing up and back on the mag as you shoot.  IF it's teh rec. cut, send it back.
