Help a guy understand the 3 different receivers made by DSA alone, what does all of this mean?? How do you decide which one to get? hinking.gif Thanks in advance. Huntr |

well if your going to build a full automatic heavy barrel get the Type III as it is the heaviest hence the strongest. If you want the traditional look (lightening cuts along receiver) get a type 1 If you're like most of us who have the means and ways to purchase a type 2 then get a type 2. Does it really matter? No its primarily 100% of which style you prefer the look of in a semi-automatic build. |

You can use a type 1, 2 or 3 receiver with just about any kit. The lower (trigger housing) comes cut for a type 1,2 or 3. STG's are most often type 1 or 2 lower. G1's are most often type 1 or 2 lower. Imbel kits are most often type 3 lower. What I have done in the past is cut a type 3 recoil plate to fit a type 1 or 2, it's all cosmetics when it comes to type 1.2 or 3. (cosmetics and money). Court .223 |

I used a type III cause that is what was in the box of parts I got horse trading. I like the looks of the type I and it is a few ounces lighter. Mainly cosmetics is the only thing to take into consideration. If I was wanting to get the FAL light I would use the type I. Having said that I think I would use the receiver that was right for the kit if it was within your budget. Having said all that I like my mutt. Type III Imbel Gear Logo Receiver from Pacific Armament Corporation STG58 bbl with short gas tube. STG58 Stolle Flash Suppressor. Penguin OD Green Premium Furniture w/ SAW grip and humpback buttstock. RA marked Type 2? Lower, Bolt, Carrier and Top Cover with original shitty green paint. Indian L1A1 Selector Lever. Australian L1A1 OD Green Carry Handle. DSA HTS Set. US Charging Handle. Ugly but effective. |
