| Hey folks, I am considering a DSA SA58..what kind of trigger pull can I expect? I am really spoiled on the two-stage match trigger on my RRA CAR15. Thanks in advance for the advice. |
| FAL triggers in general suck. The DSA triggers are very reliable, but generally suck worse than the originals. You can improve them with a Falcon spring set and by polishing the contact surfaces, but it isn't going to be a match grade by any stretch. In theory, Red Star is working on one, but that's been the rumor for over a year now. |
| You were given good advise... I built an Imbel FAL and the original "well-used" trigger group was great but I needed to swap it to a DSA unit for the US parts. The DSA left a lot to be desired but that can be corrected with minor work with a file and the knowledge on how to do it... |

The general opinion is that the FAL trigger leaves something to be desired, I am not impressed with Red Star Arms and even if they made it, I most likely wouldn't use it. Like I siad, I am not impressed by anything Kalashnikov. That being said, I believe the nicest FAL trigger is Steyr. I am so used to the DSA trigger, doesn't even bother me but if you are used to an AR, M1 or M1A, you will need to adjust to the FAL trigger. I actually like the stiffness of the trigger, but I have been called a bull in a china shop more than once |

The Lithgow triggers in the L1A1 were very good, as FAL's go. My L1A1 has a good trigger, but it's well used. The metric triggers are generally pretty poor, but as said some judicious file and stone work can really smooth them out. You're talking about a rifle that isn't hyper accurate, with basic combat sights. Not like you're going to have a crisp trigger and go sub-MOA with one anyway. Consider what they were designed for, and their triggers are adequate. |
