MOA or close to it with match ammo ?

I got a ten round 1 1/2" group this afternoon with Australian Milsurp in my DSA STG58A, prone with bipod using a Springfield 1st Gen Combat scope. It is one hot smoking accurate gun. Very good ammo. I'm definitely ordering a couple of more cases of it next week. Problem is when I take it out everyone wants to shoot it. Don't know about match ammo though.

Thanks for the response. I had a chance to shoot some of that surplus ammo in my remington LTR at 200 yds and I can up with a group under 2". I was shocked.

The Australian milsurp 308 is some of the best ammo that you cand find. The Austrian StG58 barrels are the best milsurp F A L barrels around. The combination of the two is generally excellent.

Milsurp F A L barrels are 1:12 twist rate. Ammo loaded with bullets heavier than 168 gr do not usually provide very good performance in these barrels.

1/2" with Winchester 150 gr silver ballistic tip at 100 through the irons all day long. 1" with Aussie surplus. The FAL has long had a wive's tale of inaccuracy so to speak by people who don't know how to shoot.

wish I had eyes that could perform like that!

I am pleased with being able to put a magazine of 20 into 2 inches with a very hot barrel. That's good enough for me.
