I live in California and have decided to pick up a FAL. I was gong to get a grand, then a M1a, But i have decided on the FAL. I can make one california legal easy, so my only problem is which brand to get? I like buying my guns from Alanticfirearms.com. And they offer 3 different ones i would like. #1 R-1 A-1 .308 Fal( I think it has used parts and i dont think i would like to buy this one)#2 IMBEL FAL.308( i think it is all new and seems to be a good gun) #3 DSA STG 58 .308 FAL( From what i have read the best) The IMBEL cost about 300.00 less then the DSA. I was wondering if its worth the extra money i like buying top of the line things but some times top of the line can be a rip off. Is the DSA REALY THAT GOOD? IS IT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY?

Thanks

Rudy

changed my mind going to go with the Entreprise Arms  Fal Standard. What do you guys  think about that one?

I had an Imbel built by ORF, No problems with it . shoot great and TODD was super to work with.
I trust ORF's rifle before enterprise. IMHO

DSA has a lifetime warranty, and is using the original blueprints and modern CNC machinery to build their receivers, and has an excellent working relationship with both Steyr and Fabrique Nationale.

DSA is the highest quality post ban FAL on the market, period.  I have owned preban (pre-'89 ban) FAL's and the DSA is at least as good as an FN and I will say it is better than the preban Springfield Armory SAR-48.

Go DSA, you won't be sorry.

Going from DSA to Entreprise is like trading in your 2004 Chevy Duramax Diesel 4X4 for an 85 Renault Le Car.

Don't buy Entreprise.

Go w/ORF or DSA.

So even theDSA STG 58 A is a austiran Gun, IS that a good gun too? Because its not a all dsa rifle. I would have to go with the standard DSA.

I got the Idea. I might have to shell out the extra cash and get a SDA STG 58 STG Sandard.
My only worry is that i spend 1300 bucks on a gun and it gets taken away from me. I have heard that the MAG has to be wielded on to be legal? I thought that you only had to fix the mag with a screw.?

DSA makes a Kaliban specific FAL. Or you can check out the FALfiles.com for a modified mag catch for Kali legality. You can get a STG58A for less than $1300. I believe DSA is backordered on all of their rifles right now.

THE QUESTION.

Is a standard   DSA SG58 FAL rifle more accurate(1400.00) Than a M1A Springfield (1300.00) Srandard?

I think i might have to go with the DSA and make my modifactions at a later date. I am going to have to spend the extra

Probably close accuracy wise (With the edge going to M1A), BUt the DSA kicks less, Uses dirt cheap mags & has a pistol grip.
I went with the STG 58, It cost me less than $900 with shipping & FFL fee included, One of the best FALs I've seen, The fit & finish is first rate, Eats anything I feed it, Never even a hiccup !

If you want a gun you don't have to play with to get working & is beautyfully finsihed,  Get the DSA.
Nicest FALs I have seen & shot, In my opinion Nicer than FN made FALs.

DSA subs out there machining work. I would use an Imbel or DSA receiver.
