I have aquired an FAL in a trade, and I know very little about them. It is stamped L1A1 Sporter...Cal .308...CAI-St Alb VT. The upper receiver is also stamped "made in canada" near the Mag Well. It has a bird cage style flash hider, but no bayonet lug. The furniture is a dark wood. The serial number is 101xxx. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Its a non-compliant, Century built FrankenFAL.  More than likely, its built with a metric reciever (Imbel), but with all Inch parts.  It will not take Inch mags unless the receiver was modified.  Its non-compliant because it was likely shipped with a thumbhole stock that has been replaced.  In order to legally do that, you have to remove 7 imported parts and replace them with US ones.  You also have a flash hider which is not legal until september.

Nope, made in Canada inch receiver.  HiramRanger has one of these.

There were a number of these imported.  They were converted metric receivers, either of Century's own making or from Imbel.  IIRC, they are the more desireable of the Century guns.
