Good Morning all

I am shopping and my local dealer has a SAR-8 on the used rack. It felt good in my hands, enough to where I wnet back to it several times.

I do not know much about SAR-8's, so I am looking for some advice on them.  What to look for, wht not to buy, spots to check for defects, anything would be helpful

Thanks
Joe

The markings on the real HK contract rifles are, SAR-8 SPORTER
    EBO GREECE
    MADE IN GREECE

The others are terrible copies!

Hi Joe,

SAR8 or 48? The greek SAR8 is an excellent version of the HK91, made to German specs on German equipment. You might get more info on the HK forum. The Greek SAR8 is a much better gun than the newer SAR8s made with aluminum receivers. These, I would probably skip.

The SAR 48 is a FN FAL imported by Springfield also of excellent quality.

I liked my SAR-8 w/ aluminum receiver.

It threw the brass about 25-30 feet!
