Have a chance to purchase ARS Austrian StG-58 Replica 1 of 10 made by Mark for $1150, Its not been fired since new build should I buy it?

Any reason why you wouldn't get a DSA STG-58A?

They are much cheaper if your FFL will give you dealer cost.

I can't speak to the issue of whether or not you "should" buy the rifle except to say that I do not really think it will become any sort of super "collector's item" from an investment standpoint. (Of course, these days who really knows?) But I can say that I have two of Mark's rifles built on Imbel receivers and both function flawlessly as well as being extremely well built. I am very, very happy with both and recommend him highly assuming the customer does not need weekly email reassurance that his project is being worked-on. (Mark is a gunsmith, not a secretary. LOL) In this case, you obviously don't have a wait as I did.

Buy it. You're not buying collectibles with ARS rifles, you're buying Mark's workmanship, reputation and reliability of the weapon.

I am still somewhat of a FAL newby.  I looked at Marks rifle, and compared  to the DSA Austrian STG FAL.

Seems as if, Marks is a bit more expensive, but you are getting wood and a bit more attention to detail from a specialist smith.   mark also has a good reputation from what I have heard and read. of course, so does DSA.

So, I would probably say if this is the style rifle you want the price seems right.  If I had room in my safe for anything else I might buy one.  Alas, it is time for a safe cleaning sale.
