I wouldn't be shocked if the LS1XX devices also fall, if only because no onboard fire button like the IRIS-1. The LS2XX devices might fare slightly better just because there's nothing wrong with them, just a worse form factor, but I bet even those drop. That said, I think Somogear's going to take it the worst. The Somo NGAL isn't bad, I'll be keeping mine, but if SMS releases a 3-in-1 that's as good as the HFXC, I'm ditching my Somo PEQs. |

Usps finally pulled their thumb out and delivered. I messed around with it for a half hour before I had to get back to domestic duty. Now this is my first lam so basically disregard my opinion, but Edit: The issues with the IR laser were user error. I was wrong on the button function on the updated version. On "IRL", the "PD" down arrow button cycles through 5 IR illum brightness settings and the "PU" up cycles the laser settings. On "VLL" they both ramp together either up or down according to the arrow buttons. Playing with the vis switchology first is what threw me. I played with it early this morning and was able to get a good crisp IR laser and nice bright illum. Very happy with it. Only critique I'd add is that the PD and PU buttons are pretty hard to find click with cold hands. They click easily if you can see to push dead center, but under NV you just get close and then mash. |

Not too unusual. Sometimes scans process out of order. I am trying to convince SMSLaser to do a 3-in-1 version of the HFXC where they just swap out the white light LED for a diffuse flood "CQB" IR LED, and you have both flood and focus IR illuminator modes. That would give a really cool capability that not many (any?) budget MFALs have, and would pair great with a separate white light. |

Finally! Attached File Fits perfectly on my Bog. The remote pad sucks for me, need something smaller. Unlocked high power mode and aligned with vis laser. Going to check out IR tonight maybe. |

Holy shit. v2 is even better than I thought. The quick switch from vis to ir from the new off position is great and like the VIR II in quick to switch to vis. but even better, momentary on is even better, it is true momentary, and double tap to stay on not the "hold it long enough to be momentary" perfect |

| I ordered the "pre-order" on the 11th, and it came in (east coast) 21st, so 10 days from CA to SC. The v2 is what is shipping now. The removal of the strobe and putting a second OFF button in it's place is 100% where it should have been to start with, as it's one click either direction from OFF to go to IR or Vis. I prob won't get to mess with it until the weekend of next week, but sitting in my office just playing with it, it's really solid for the price. I don't know why everyone is griping about the centered laser, that's where I want it -dead inline with barrel- I know my bullet drops at most distances, so I can easily compensate for that better than cross-drift... the light can be adjusted like anything else on it to center it up. |

Love these little 9mms - quiet with a can and 147gr and up FMJ, and relatively cheap to train with. |

I hit up Wilson from his reply earlier on this page about batteries, just pay shipping. The 18500 profile isn't bad* but the huge increase in capacity and proliferation of the 18650 is big. I put my V2 on a 12.5" 5.56 to replace an X300 turbo. The white light is VERY similar, with the turbo beating out the candela by a bit. But it's also a more expensive light, and a white light only. 4.3 oz for the X300 vs 8.4 for the HFXC and the huge increase in capability at a lower cost is...compelling to say the least. Will be taking it out tonight for it's first hog hunt. |

Glad to hear it was the case. You're really going to love it. One more thing to watch out for is that dialing the illuminator focus all the way out to max flood means that you'll have very little power going down range - you'll want to make sure it's dialed in a bit. If you're only trying to go 25yds, it's fine, but it loses juice quick past that if you don't have it focused somewhat (I suspect that you can dial it past 120 mrad in terms of size). Supposedly my next HFXC is coming Wednesday. This one will be going on a shorty. If SMSLaser gets their act together and releases a 3-in-1, I've also got a new upper for that. :) |

I again had the experience that the illum and laser were brighter than I wanted, even on low with illum at the widest setting. It wasn't as bad as my first experience because I got the laser and illum down to the actual lowest setting, but my tube was autogating noticeably. My inexperience is probably showing, but in brighter conditions the illuminator doesn't cause autogating to darken everything outside of the circle, so the contrast between the two is low. Then again when it's that bright you don't really need to illuminate things to see them. |

I don’t know the exact numbers, but let’s say the widest beam that the onboard illuminator can adjust to is 20 degrees. With a diffuser cap, it’s probably closer to a 90 degree arc. |
