I was truly debating on purchasing, but to see such a massive divide on water rating for this compared to other units like the new IRIS (IPX3 vs IPX8) This is what 4MR Ranch had to say, and what dissuaded me from purchasing at this point in time: “I have confirmed from SMS that the illuminator adjustment dial is the main area to have water intrusion issues. Doesn’t sound like they have plans to improve it. This is a huge drawback and this unit can never be ‘duty’ grade if this isn’t fixed.” |

That said, I'm interested in it and will probably get one in the near future. To be honest I'm more concerned with shock and recoil than water. |

 I don't have a significant number of rounds on my FDE unit, but I got it zero'd and used it last night and again this evening. I will say I am quite pleased with it for the money. I am running it on my Sig MPX Copperhead and it actually fits perfectly size wise on the top rail. The Copperhead doesn't have much room for accessories so I like that the HFXC has a decent white light on it. I don't see myself shooting this gun much past 100-150 yards, so no complaints. For the money, this unit is hard to beat if you just want a decent unit for a price that won't break the budget to outfit several guns. |

I assume it can adjust the ir laser separately from the ir illuminator? How is that feature working? Can you adjust the laser low enough to prevent bloom while still having the full power illuminator? . |

For the folks with an "older" one w/ strobe, anyone brave enough to open it up and find out what microcontroller is driving these? Probably an ATtiny or similar that might be reprogrammable I ordered one on the 10th, hopefully they produce some more and it actually shows up  ETA: looks like they posted an assembly/potting video on instagram a while ago that shows the chip

| So I saw on their IG that they were contemplating giving people that *just* bought the Gen 1 HXFC (Strobe) a 40% discount on the Gen 2. I can understand them not just putting a code out there, as new buyers would use it too - but I contacted them twice, with my purchase info, but have heard nothing back. Anybody else get any info on this? The discount post was in the comments on their IG page about the new device. |

It's controlled by email. Discount only works if you ordered with them previously. Someone already tried it with no previous order and it wouldn't work. |

| Check out the new 4mr ranch video on the iris. Looks like the ole hxfc hangs with it and the m6tr for a quarter of the price. Especially the v2. If they replace the side focus wheel with a slide switch that’s sealed and these things last they are gonna fuck up the market. |

My IRIS came in today and with the little bit of messing around with it , it seems to be an exceptional device. However, if SMS incorporates the changes you noted and makes it into a 3-1 device, I’ll definitely buy some for my other rifles. The IRIS is great for my go-to gun, but I’ve got some other rifles that I want to be NV capable without breaking the bank. |

One note: It will allow you to order the same number of units you last ordered with the same e-mail. I ordered one to start, liked it for the price, then ordered two more for my boys with the same e-mail. When I went to use the v2 code, it would only allow two units with the discount, a third was full price. I used their contact us page, explained I had ordered twice, gave them my order numbers, and asked if I would be able to buy three units at the discount. They came back within 15 minutes with a completely different more random code that allowed me to get three with the discount. Impressive turn around on the response, and it's nice to see them at least make the gesture to people who bought the V1 when the V2 came out so quickly after. |

Thanks for the heads up on these. I got mine a couple days ago. The light is bright, the green and ir lasers are bright, tight, and adjustable, I like it. Before I go and order a few more, can someone help me get a few questions answered? I asked these on their contact page but no response. 1) is the unit rain shower proof or only sprinkle proof 2) is it rated to use on a 762x51 ar style? Also, are these Chinese, EU, or American made? |
| All the reviews I watched pretty much showed it only having a problem when you actually submerge it. Water is getting in through the focus wheel. Like someone above said if you need to submerge it put a square of gorilla tape over the wheel. The thing is definitely made in china. The emails are wrote in broken engrish lol. I think one of the reviewers had it on a Scar which is THE test gun for optics and lasers and such. |

Thanks for the update guys, ordered a v2 with the code and an 18650 battery cap. The responsiveness of this company to feedback is AMAZING. They are doing in months what the big names don't do in years. Jury is still out on durability but they sure seem well made and honestly at the price they are nearly disposable compared to similarly performing options. I'll keep the V1 around as a floater or to slap on in case the V2 breaks. For what I paid for both units I will be at half the price of an IRIS, 1/5 the price of a gray market PEQ, and just over 10% the price of a MAWL. And that is not even taking the white light into consideration. |
