Good morning.  I want a Garand, and I want to order one when they become available again.  I have a CHL, but I'm not a member of a proper organization.  I've read thr list, but nothing is sticing out to me.  What is a path of least resistance?

Also, I'm heavily invested in .308.  What are your thoughts on the .308 Garands?

Thank you.

The Garand Collector's Associationi satisfies the requirement for belonging to a club. Good luck getting an M1.

I sent in an order in April and have heard nothing.

They sre still selling the .308 specials.  Garand Collectors Association is probably the best to join.

If you're a member of the TSRA, you're covered. If you aren't, you should be.

But the GCA is well worth it in its own right.

If I was an American, I'd look for Garands for sale on the CMP forum.

Join the forum and see who has a Garand for sale

I just bought my first from CMP. I signed up with GCA online and the next day sent in my paperwork including the receipt from GCA. GCA will send your membership info to CMP but I don't know how often they do it. I did get their membership packet last week which includes a pretty nice quarterly magazine. Sent in on 5/27 and even with snail mail and a holiday my Special shipped today and will arrive tomorrow.

Good luck with that.  I joined about a month ago and they still have not updated my status to allow me to post anything there.  I sent them emails asking why and so far only crickets.
