Quoted: I dropped my order off at FedEx yesterday afternoon and paid for delivery by 10:30 this morning. I still haven't got a receipt confirmation from CMP or heard any status of my order. What's up with that? I want information, NOW! . . . . Mine was on the same truck as yours. I just went with the basic SG. I want a good shooter. |

WHAT'S TAKING THEM SO LONG?!?! . . . . Yeah, I ordered a service grade, too. I've had really good luck with them in the past. |

Quoted: I got one from an earlier CMP batch, lots of IHC parts (all except stock and trigger group is IHC). LEAD rebuild, nice rifle. http://<a href=http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a608/alphabrew/stock_zps2a7b085f.jpg</a>" /> <----- And very jelly |
| Late to the party, just sent in my paperwork Priority. Gets there Wednesday. If I get one, I get one and if not I'm out $5.75. Sat on the fence this whole time and figured they'd be listed as sold out by now and didn't really NEED it. Requested a Service grade w/ LMR barrel. If they call with a different offering and move to sold out I'll decline. |

I think they ordered a gap model, and were asked if they wanted choose another model, except for the service w/LMR because they were already accounted for. |

I doubt you get the back order option. This is the second release of the limited number of IHCs they had. The last time they were allowing backorder because they still had about 2000 rifles to sort through and they were trying to accommodate all orders that came in by a certain cutoff . This time, I think we are seeing the last of those 2000. I bet they dipped into some of those 2000 to fulfill backorders last time, and we already know each of the stores got 90 rifles each out of this batch. If you want an IHC, provided they are sold out of your original request, you might have to settle for a service grade without LMR, or one of the field grade variants. If it is not that important to you, I am sure someone else will gladly scoop up any available rifle. |

I keep hearing the CMP is on its last batch of rifles in general, too, but they keep selling them. No doubt it'll happen one day, but the only ones that really know are the CMP themselves. Like I said, if I get one I get one. Not settling for a IHC receiver only rifle at such a premium personally. We'll know in a couple weeks I suppose. |

Other people are the ones claiming CMP is almost out of Garands, and they do have to run out some time. They are not making any new ones, and the options have definitely been limited for a few years now. But the IHCs were definitely limited. Last time, a lot of people that did not get LMR barrels received nearly correct rifles, while a lot of the LMR barrel people got rifles that were nothing but that. An IHC receiver and an LMR barrel. Requesting a service grade LMR barrel model doesn't guarantee you anything either. Not to mention, some IHC rifles were originally outfitted with SA barrels, not LMR. |

H53Expert,
I'm aware some of the IHC's came with SA barrels. I simply feel like guaranteeing the LMR helps improve the odds of obtaining a barrel/receiver match. The rest of the parts can be obtained through purchase/trade, but it's going to be hard to obtain the correct barrel if you get an IHC receiver that originally would have been a LMR barrel and it's not. Granted, yes, it's still a lottery either way and maybe the guy that ordered the Field Grade gets the real winner. Until you open the green box you don't know. As for the number of orders, again, only CMP knows. My guess is they get a great flood the first few days, and then after that it settles down and they see them trickle in until the rifles are all gone. Gappers were obviously the hot commodity and most certainly very limited in quantity. Seems like a lot of guys sat this one out on the IHCs as many snatched them up in last fall's order. Sending in a late order certainly isn't hurting my chances and again, if I don't get one, there won't be any crying. |
| Wow guy was buying to flip to me does not deserve it. But that is only my opinion. I realize things come up and people need money for life moments but as soon as you get it I doubt it. I put in for a gap and got the DBU email March 31 but nothing else. I see where some people get everything in one day email, e-store hit then cc hit and rifle arrives the next day. Good luck to everyone....except the flippers |
| Does kind of suck to see flippers get one instead of someone trying to round out a collection, but...at the end of the day...people don't have to bid that high either. Not going to say I've never received something and turned around and sold it for a profit either. |
|
Quoted: IMHO the CMP prices are not that good to flip and make it worth the hassle. Well since the gap letter flipper is almost doubling his investment (if not more, I haven't seen if the auction is over $2k yet) I would say you're incorrect. I'm still waiting for my e-mail for my regular old SG non-LMR. |

The buyer was prolly not stupid and would order from CMP if the average rifle from CMP retailed for 2x the CMP price. The CMP price is fair considering you are spending the money on a rifle you haven't seen. |

Quoted: My order got delivered to the CMP on the 16th... (post office F-up, my overnight express mail envelope apparently got lost along the way and took 5 days to arrive). Still haven't gotten an email from the CMP... put in for just a regular service grade IHC I would say you're in for a long wait since it appears they're no where near complete with orders from the 11th. |

Last I saw the auction was over $1980. IHC Gappers are typically around $1500, so CMP being $1100 shipped was a good deal. Quoted:

I sent one in for a gap and a note if sold out would take next best thing so hopefully will at least get a SG. They have not posted sold out like they did in 2014 so hopefully they have quit a few. Also, since some came with SA barrels, how does requesting LMR guarantee a barrel/receiver match when some of the rifles are originally barrel/receiver match with an SA barrel? |

Quoted:
Didn't I read somewhere that the CMP has buyers sign an agreement they won't "flip" it? If that's the case, do they ever cut people off from future purchases? I think the wording just reads that you are purchasing for personal use. It says nothing about flipping. In either case, I believe you would have to show a pattern of flipping the rifles in order to be banned from further purchases. |

IMHO the CMP prices are not that good to flip and make it worth the hassle. Most of the flips are on service or field grades at somewhere between $650 and $750. They routinely sell for almost double that on Gunbroker and other sites I have seen. They are pretty much doubling their money, even without taking the IHC name into consideration. |

How is someone supposed to just make the decision to go through the CMP when they are a limited item? Not to mention, a lot of people don't qualify for CMP purchase, and many more are not even aware the CMP exists. |

IHC M1 on Armslist for $1500. Not mine and I know it's probably not a great price but he is accepting trades. This could be your chance if you've been looking to get one. I'd like to have it but truth is I'd probably never shoot it.
