I just got a new 18" M1A and I need an optic for it.  I am looking for a variable power illuminated reticle scope with some sort of bullet drop hold over capability.  I don't really like mildots or similar.  Something along the lines of my Leupold MR/T 1.5-5 with the CMR reticle but calibrated for .308 would be great.  I like the half circle/horses shoe with the central dot setup.  I would like the illumination to be daylight visible too if possible.

My budget is around $1000.

The 2-8 MR/T would be an option, but the only reticles I have seen are mildot and TMR which I don't like either.  I am not a sniper.

Thanks guys.

I swear someone made one with a "Horseshoe" reticle.  For the life of me I can't remember the companies name.

I ended up ordering a Burris VTR 1.5-6X

I think it should work out nicely.
