I'm posting this for my brother.

he has an Springfield M1A SOCOM that he just installed a Trijicon ACOG TA11E utilizing an ARMS #18 mount. His cheek pad is a ghetto setup at the moment and has a Bipod attached so he was shooting stable.

he took it shooting this weekend to zero it and was having issues getting it set in. He is a US Marine and is familiar with the ACOG's mechanics so that solves one issue, but below are his words:

"It's a bit Fucky. Gotta get to a known 100 yard range and zero it. We were less than 100 I think and it kept shooting pretty high even with it adjusted for full low. Yes I was adjusting it the right way. But basically I was just aiming about six inches or so low and destroying some beer cans. It's quite nice"

any ideas what would be the issue? He is mentioning looking for a USGI extractor but I dont know what that is going to do for him.

So the scope is bottomed out in adjustment and he is still shooting high?

He probably means USGI extractor. SAI has been known to have faulty extractors.

Correct and correct, I fucked up on the extractor part.

There is no reason he should even be approaching bottoming out. Are his irons sighted in? Did they take a lot of adjustment to be zeroed? If not, the mount is out of spec or is mounted incorrectly.

His irons are perfect and shoots great from what he tells me. I'm going to see if I. Can't encourage him to join here and add to the post.

Resolved... Dumb shit emailed me today... The instructions were "Printed crooked as fuck" and he missed an important step so the scope was angled upward from bore axis.
