found this for sale on another forum... this is a bit boggling as by definition a M1A is a civilian semi-auto variant of the M14, yet the receiver is engraved M1A and it has the happy switch. Was this by any chance a pre-86 conversion?

I have seen pictures of three different versions of the happy switch. Non functional of course, but meant to fill the hole in the stock on a military receiver.
1. A simple button installed in the stock. 2. A converted happy switch that installs in the stock. 3. A converted happy switch that also has the little hook thingy that attaches to the bottom of the op rod outside the receiver. It may be one of those... |

Up for sale is one of those NFA transferable select fire M1A rifles. It was built about 1983. I have no connection to the seller. |
