Is there a significant performance difference between the 18" barrel on the Scout (AA9122) and the 22" barrel on the Loaded (MA9222)?

Thanks.

The third hand information I can find states that there is about a 120 to 180 fps loss in velocity when switching to the shorter barrel.  The other listed fault, which is subjective, is that the shorter barrel is much louder.

I believe the loaded is a match barrel with a thicker profile, and the scout is more of a GI profile.  I think.

Yes. The loaded (which I have) has a thicker chamber/barrel profile.
This makes it harder to find a handguard rail system, like the troy or others.
That will make mounting a forward optic difficult, like on the scout.
The standard has a standard barrel and you could buy  the scout forward mount and handguard.

The Scout, (which my friend has) is a much easier rifle to "flick" around and pull up onto target.
It is loud and spits quite a fire ball.

Both rifles are accurate.
I prefer mine, and he, his.

I love the 18.0" barrel and both the loudness and fireball flash can be greatly reduced by installing
a Smith Enterprise Vortex flash hider, the one that uses your existing tall front sight and castle nut.

The Loaded has a NM thicker profile bbl. Ask me 'cause I have one I love my Springer M-1A loaded. It shoots better than I do.

Here it is in two different configuration.
