Ran across the Mini G while looking at Shuff's site to get one of my Garands rebarrelled.  Looks like a nice handy little stick.  I already have a "tanker" in 308 but for some reason am drawn to the Mini G.  The mag fed option looks neat also but most likely wouldn't go for that.

I do want, but I'm wondering what the muzzle blast would be like.

e muzzel blast on my 308 isn't to bad,  that being said on a 30-06 it would surely be a freakin flame thrower with a wicked force coming out the business end of it.

My 308 has the Smith Enterprise brake on it and its very tame to shoot.

Shuffs has a forum. Come on over and ask any questions you have about it there

I wouldn't agree with that.  Both mine are in 30-06, but they have flash suppressors.  I'm actually thinking of letting this one go to fund another project.  They are well done and reliable.

Sorry to get off topic, but what sling is that? I've been looking for a 3 point sling that would fit my Garand for hog hunting.

I'll pay money to swap stocks on yours if you decide to sell it. Still haven't had a chance to cut mine down.

He does that too, in 30-06 or 308.

It was the original reason I was on his site.  Damned short attention span got me again...

Just guessing but it looks like it may be a Boonie Packer or a Specter.

Those Shuff's modified Garands look frickin' awesome.

Looks like a Spectre to me. I have one on my AR.

Not a Mini G but this is what I'm going to have Shuff build next
I have all the parts just trying to scrape together all the funds for the build

I'm not sure, as it's not marked.  I seem to recall buying it from Bushmaster once upon a time, but as others have pointed out, there are some similar slings available from other vendors.

Edit:  It may indeed be a Boonie Packer since Bushmaster did carry that brand, IIRC.

Cheap? No, but I did get it for several hundred less than what they have been selling for on Gunbroker
This whole build is a huge money pit, not sure what I was thinking when I decided to do this

Where'd you get it from? One of the italian sellers on fleabay or similar? You gonna go mini length on it?

Its a original stock, not a Reese built that I bought from a friend. Length of barrel will be around 17 inches
I think he has another stock if interested $400

That would be very cool, except for the receiver modification required. I couldn't do that to one of mine.

Bare receivers are plentiful. CMP has them for less than $200 each. I have several setting in the safe waiting for a project or two

Nor fun to shoot.  I had one years back, was the coolest thing I'd ever laid eyes on until I put 20 rounds of port 7.62mm through it.

Why a Socom M1A has a shorter barrel and no muzzle device and shoots fine.
Never heard anyone complain about the recoil before, these were orginally  fired in full auto in this configuration so cant be to bad

To each their own, personally I cant bring myself to permanently alter things like Garand receivers.

Here's a photo of mine in .308 with a Beretta BM62 style gas system and NOS Beretta bipod.  Muzzle blast is pretty much what you'd expect from a 16" .308 rifle, but not especially punishing.  A bystander described it as an "authoritative thump", I can't do any better than that.
