Chromed lined barrels, I have been told that Springfield Armory does not chrome line them all, is this true. If it is, can you find out if your rifle is by serial number?

Springfield Armory, Inc. has at times in the past used chromium plated USGI M14 barrels in the assembly of its M1A rifles.  That company has not used chromium plated commercial barrels for its M1A rifles.  There have been a few exceptions but M1A rifles have not been assembled with chromium plated barrels since January 2004.  If a M1A rifle is older than January 2004, the serial number itself does not reveal its parts make up.

Thin (standard) contour GI barrels marked with the USGI part number and the manufacturers initials (TRW, SA, HRA, etc).

I will look at them today and post pics. I doubt that any part on it is USGI. I bought the rifle new almost 2 years ago.
