I found this when I was cleaning out my closet the other day. I seem to remember it came with a M1A my father bought a long time ago. Fake suppressor?  What is it? Does it have any value?
Any help appreciated.

Nah, it looks like a real one.  Better check for paperwork.

It looks like a Sionics M14SS-1 suppressor but there were some display only / non-functional Sionics suppressors made back in the 1970s for civilian collectors.  Check for markings but don't feel like you have to post a reply.

If it is not a fake you are neck deep in a legal beartrap.
By posting this you have potentially set yourself up for a knock on your door.

The more I look into this, the more I am of the opinion that the object in the photo above is a display only muzzle attachment.  I dug out the Tom Buss OGCA newsletters.  Tom Buss had Sionics make five dummy M14 SS-1 suppressors for him in 1972.  The Sionics dummy SS-1 suppressors had markiings.  What is shown in the photo above is not a Sionics product.  The locking collar and the location of the relief valve on a Sionics suppressor are not the same as what is shown in the photograph above.  HTH
