Sent my application in two full weeks ago... called them last week and they hadn't got to it yet... still no charge on my CC.

I know it said 15-30 days for DELIVERY on the website, but I figured the app processing would be quicker?

Is it typical for them to take this long just to get around to the application?  Maybe they got a lot of mail over the holidays?

closed due to ice on roads. Last sat we were still processing orders from 30 Nov. It will be many weeks before we catch up.

Yikes!!!  Ok, Thanks for the reply!

There were over 15,000 orders for bayonets and M1D accessories.  That's gonna take awhile to get caught up on.  Sounds like your timing was wrong

Oh and by the way, every phone call checking status, every email checking status only delays them further in the processing of orders.

It can vary widely.  CMP can get overwhelmed with orders from time to time, depending upon what's in the catalog.  It's a fairly small staff, but rest assured they will get to you.  I've seen orders take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months.

It the "good old days" it was usually about a year.  You read that right, one year.

I'm still awaiting a Garand order placed Nov 22nd. No status at all.  The holidays, bad weather, Black Monday and severe understaffing have seriously slowed them down.

I placed a order over a month ago and nothing yet other than they have recived my order. They are backed up because of the bayos and holidays.
Sign up for E-Store on their site and you can track your order
It will take time but they will get to your order

Can you go pick up orders (Garand + couple cans of ammo, say) from the Anniston store? That might be a good road trip...

You can pick outyour own rifle and carry it out the same day as long as you meet the qualifications at either the North or South Store

Patience, they will get to you.
It doesn't often snow and ice over in Alabama and I am sure they are having a tough time down there.

My first M1 rifle ordered from the old Director of Civilian Marksmanship took nearly a year to receive.
You will get yours much sooner.

Sent mine back in the fall - took about 5 weeks from mailbox to having an M1 at my door.

Right now, this area, down to mid-AL, is covered in snow.
Being the South, we ain't prepared for this.
Good chance that the CMP has either been closed, or at the least - operating at less than full output.

As others have said - a little patience is good. It is very hard to wait for the new gun, but try. The CMP is not quick... but you'll get a good gun for a cheap price!

Nov 30th order showed shipped today, so it looks like about 6 weeks ATM.
