Are the trigger groups on a Garand and a M14/M1A interchangeable?

And the trigger (M1 doesn't have the auto spur, but fits M14 otherwise), and safety.

if they were, there'd be a lot of Garands missing trigger groups

LOL, yeah and M14 trigger housings wouldn't cost over $200!  (I never paid over $120 and that still sucks)  Most noticeable is the garand trigger housing has a big magazine floor plate/belly pan and the M14 only has a projection for a magazine catch for the detacheable box magazine.

Hammers will work in both, most triggers will work but some replacement triggers will not due to a minor dimensional difference.  I forgot which way it was, some M14 triggers didn't fit M1's or the other way around.  Every once in awhile on the firing line board someone will post an issue with a trigger not working.  Something about the pointy tail projection on the trigger being different/oversized.

Also trigger and hammer pins interchange.  The bill ricca parts website has a list of M1/M14 interchangeable parts.
