Well I sent my M1A Scout in because the bolt roller and bolt and a few other issues
Sent it in 10/29/10 Got it back today 11/19/10 There notes in the report back to me were pretty vague . All it said was the bolt roller was broken and the bolt was out of spec so they replaced it and the operating rod. I had told them when I called them to do a NM trigger job on it . They said they would and they would call to collect payment before it ships . Well it showed up today with the vaguely worded letter and a new bolt and rod, oh and a busted gun case . BUT NO NM trigger job . One one hand they were about right in there 2-6 week estimate but the trigger thing sorta irks me . Now I get to find a gunsmith who will do the NM upgrade on my trigger. I dont know how i feel about keeping the rifle yet . Not happy at all with Springfield . Edited for clarity apparently I said something "unmanly" |

Have you shot it yet?
Does the trigger look or feel any different? Have you removed it and looked at it? Are you sure it wasn't "cleaned up" any? Is it possible they did work on it and just not tell you or charge you? If the answer to most of the above is "NO" ...there are plenty of other m14 Plumbers available to do whatever you need at a reasonable price. For liability reasons, you might be better off with an independent gunsmith other than Springfield...which may be reluctant to work on triggers...or just too busy or sloppy to have done yours. One little personal tip: Don't make it too light, they tend to double after a while if it's not done correctly. It's not fun to have LE friends nearby when an M1A/M14 doubles, triples or worse. |
| You know in the past I've heard many praise the fact that their Springer has a lifetime warranty. But now with so many having to use it . I hear a lot of negatives about the actual service. Hmmmmm. When I set about building my own with my Norinco. I sent it to Warbirds for work. Knowing that it would be done right. And therefore not need a "lifetime" warranty. Something to consider. If springers work is now below par your just building in more future problems. And therefore will need to use their warranty service more. Which will give you more problems. Which will require more warranty. Which will.........Well you get the point. You may find that sending it to someone who knows what the heck they are doing in the first place. Will lead to a better rifle that does not need a warranty. But instead one that just shoots and shoots and shoots some more. May I suggest Warbirds? Perhaps shoot him an e mail. I know he does NM trigger work. My trigger group will be going there sometime soon I hope. After the wife releases her stranglehold on the money. Damn holidays.......LOL |

Well sorry if you think its womanish to want a $1600 + rifle to operate with mil surplus ammo without breaking .
Yes I have no idea right now if i want to keep this rifle and deal with SAI 's lack luster customer service. I have thousands of rounds through my M4 and no issues that needed the rifle to be mailed anywhere . |
