I just read that all M1A's have had forged bolts since the 80's, can anyone verify that?
Also, what profile barrel does my Loaded M1A have? It's not the stainless steel version. Are there any high priority parts on my rifle that I should upgrade to forged parts besides the receiver? Thanks. |

If it's an A prefix number, e.g., A00038, it's a cast bolt. If it's a B series lot number, it's machined from billet. F series lot numbers, e.g., F00170, indicate forged bolts. |
