Shot Garand ammo from CMP. The shells after they were shot I noticed the opening (where the bullet fit in the shell) isnt round. They are not all like that, I would say half are like that. Can I reload them? Is something wrong with my garand causing this? Is it the old ammo?

Depends how out of round they are.  All of my Garands
leave the case mouth slightly out of round.  The expander
ball in my resizer die takes care of that.

I wouldn't worry about it.  Enjoy the Garand.

If its dented to much It will crush when you size it.  I have used a dummy round in the past to pop the dent outward.

Garands are notoriously harsh on brass. When you reload, you'll want to completely full length resize your brass, and retire brass after fewer loadings than you would in a bolt action rifle. Otherwise you may risk the occurence of split cases and/or head separation. Your mileage may vary. Enjoy your rifle!

A pointed, steel center-punch, pushed into the partially closed neck of the cartridge by hand will do the trick, and avoid damaging the dummy round.

Thanks guys. I was starting to wonder if I had a problem on my hands.

No problem, as already said it's normal. Case hitting the op rod upon ejection, and again, it's normal, as long as it doesn't completely close the case mouth.
