| The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to buy an adjustable gas plug for my garand. Are there any negative effects to the garand for using one? |

Quoted: I have not seen any. I use a Schuster on my .308 Garand. It not only has helped with some reliability problems but also reduced group sizes by about an inch when I got it tuned right. You might as well stop telling folks that. They will never believe you. At least, they have never believed me. BTW,It works on FNFALs too. There is one negative effect when using an adjustable gas plug on a Garand. The release of excess pressure makes the rifle so much more pleasant to shoot that you will expend far more ammo than you intended at every range session, thereby making your stash much smaller. You will, of course, have to replace said ammo. Therefore spending more money. Then when you look at all of that ammo you have stashed, and remember how pleasant it is to shoot your Garand with the adjustable gas plug, you will go the to range and expend more ammo. So you see, installing an adjustable gas plug on your Garand will set in motion a vicious perpetual cycle that never stops costing you money. |
