New in the box! Just got it two days ago and it's my first. It's a Service Grade Springfield Special (collector-grade metal with new wood). Serial number indicates 1955-57 manufacture.   |

Great rifle!! I got mine in Feb, and just found a correct, collector grade stock for it, so I'll basically have a collector grade rifle for less than what the CMP charges (prices start at $1500). I think once they realize this, the price of these guns will go up.
So, you pay $895, then another ~$300 for a collector stock, and sell your CMP stock for $130.. Do the math, and you'll see what I'm talking about... |

You probably have a CMP Special, which usually does have a WWII receiver, but has an new Criterion barrel and is basically a mixmaster. Although my CMP Special does have all SA parts, but not the correct drawing numbers for the WWII receiver I have. |
