I celebrated my birthday this past weekend by wasting some expensive ammo through my SOCOM II, which I recently got on a trade but have shot little - what a pleasuer to shoot! I really like it a lot more than I thought I would, although I doubt I ever use all of the mounting points - I'm leaning towards putting a scout scope on it, but I'm perfectly happy with the iron sights.
One thing though - I'm betting that shooting the darn thing with no hearing protection would make you think your head was coming off - anyone crazy enough to do that and can report? I've shot plenty (and stupidly) without, including .308, but the way the brake works on this one . . . . |

A couple of years ago me and some coworkers went to the range. I let a guy try my SOCOM. I look over and he is pointing it downrange and says he wants to try it with no ears on. Before I can tell him how stupid that idea is he fires. Damn near drops my gun. Was funny. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
