I think the general consensus is to not buy one of these.  The price you pay is too high.  For the same or less cash than you pay for a "Super Match" you can get a super, match-tuned rifle from world class builder that is better.

I'm not saying they are bad.  I'm saying others believe there is a much better deal available.

used - $3200, immediate - http://www.gunsamerica.com/940406157/Guns/Rifles/Springfield-Armory-Rifles/M1A-M14/M1A_Super_Matc.htm

$2995 - http://www.gunsamerica.com/941435598/Guns/Rifles/Springfield-Armory-Rifles/M1A-M14/M1A_Super_Match.htm

mine was ~$1200 back in 1988 - hard to believe how much they have gone up in 20 years....

Not to mention what the .308's in AR style platforms are priced compared to the supermatch....I really wanted to get a supermatch as well, but for that money, you can get into an entry class III that will be more valuable than your supermatch will ever be.

+1.

I have a rifle that is built to or beyond  'Supermatch' specs, and it shoots like a house afire.

And you'd shit a brick if you knew what I actually had in it. . . .
