| What slings do you have on your M1A? I have a Springfield M1A Loaded, and I need to put a sling on it. I would rather not have a leather one, and the only other option I can find is a $50 Turner sling. Are there any sites that sell nylon/cotton slings that are in stock? |

I was looking at the Turner Saddlery Biothane sling. Is the Biothane material nice? The description states it is a 1907 style sling. What is the difference between a 1907 and 1903 sling? 1907 is what you need, I think the other post was refering to the sling on a 1903 rifle,,, I have a biothane, it's nice and all that, but has no give, at all, which is great, but takes some getting used to when you are used to leather giving a little bit, turner makes a nice sling, or you can get one of the leather MRT marked ones from brownells, or several other dealers onlne, |

G. I. web sling, Vietnam era issue. I'm not high speed, nor do I pretend to be. I cannot find any GI web slings. Everywhere I look they are gone. I checked the Bill Ricca and E-gun parts sites and could not find any of these for sale, maybe my internet-fu is weak. I would rather not buy a $50 sling if I can get by with a $5 one. |

I also have the biothane sling from turner, and the only negative I have found is that the keepers take tons of force to move. That is good when you are in position, but it's tough to get into position. Other than that, I say get the turner. |

CJ Weapons makes a nice cotton GI sling in black. I got mine form Midway for $11 but he sells them direct for a little more. |
| If you want a leather 1907 sling I recommend Les Tam. Hands down his are light years ahead of MRTs and, IMHO, well ahead of Turner's leather. They are on par with the biothane, but as said above, biothane takes some getting used to. |

There is this thing called appleseed and they mention Bills site by name on there web page that is why there are no more slings left, because after you go to an appleseed shoot you find that the sling is a very usfull tool and not something just to carry your rilfle about (not that there is anything wrong with that). dont worry Obama isnt banning slings yet http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=5496.0 |
