I just bought a loaded M1a the other day. It has a cheap no-name gen 3 scope mount on it currently that's coming off. I've noticed on this mount that the recess in the bottom of the base for using the iron sights doesn't line-up perfectly. Any sugestions on a quality mount that can be had as a replacement? The attachment block too that is in the dovetail where the clip guide would be looks as though it was hacked-out of a piece of bar-stock with a hacksaw!

Get a Sadlak mount and never look back. Based on the Brookfield design. You can get the fitting kit that will ensure a good fit to your reciever. Especially if you have a Springfield Armory rifle.
