So I took my Garand out for the first time yesterday and everything went very well except for 1 thing. At one point in the middle of a clip, it ejected the brass from the round I fired and an unfired round and did not chamber a new one. It was odd and I haven't heard of that ever happening before (granted, I'm new with M1's) Any ideas what could have caused it and what I may have done wrong or could do to prevent it from happening again? It's not a terrible thing but could prove annoying if it continues to do this. I fired 60 rnds total and it only did it once though.

Sounds like a clip latch spring. Pretty common thing, If it ejected the clip and all the remaining rounds then it is the clip latch spring. Just head on over to fultonarmory.com and get their heavy duty clip latch spring. 5 bucks and you're good to go. Real simple replacement too.

He reports it just didn't chamber a round.  It sound like the clip didn't eject.  If it is a once in a while thing I would keep shooting it and keep track if it happens again.  Sounds like you shot a few clips with it only happening once.  Maybe mark that clip and see if it happens again.  Maybe the clip wasn't loaded properly, or maybe underpowered ammo that didn't cycle the bolt back completely.  Did the round feel, sound different?  Sometimes it's hard to tell.  Might have been a fluke in the ammo, etc.  Semi-autos are hard to diagnose with just one random malfunction.

Sounds like it short stroked. Have you ever completly dissasembled the rifle and greased it? Is the Gas screw tight? If you do these two things and it keeps happening the gas cyinder or the gas piston could be worn

It sounds more like a clip issue..  If you look above, it sounds like the bolt went back far enough to eject the brass, but when it stripped the round from the clip, it either flung it out from too much clip tension, or the round got skewed and got flung out by the advancing bolt.  It actually may be quite the opposite of short-stroking, and may be the op-rod spring is weak.  Check the back of the underside of the receiver and ensure the bolt isn't slamming back into it.

I would change out the recoil and clip spring, and then grease it.

Order a sping kit from Orion 7

Get the G98a spring kit.
