| What is the difference between the standard base and the National Match Base? I have been told that the relief under the hooded sight is deeper than the standard sight to compensate for the Hood of the sight. Am I correct? |
| The threads in the right side for the windage screw should be different (finer thread) so you have 1/2 minute clicks vs. 1 minute clicks when making windage adjustments. 1/2 minute clicks (1/2 MOA) means a finer adjustment capability for target shooting. It means you've got to have a NM windage knob, too. |

The SA Inc. sight windage knob has eight notches or serrations on the inside edge that bear against the right side of the receiver with a small ball detent to provide the stop between clicks. This allows SA Inc to use standard sight bases and windage knobs with only minor modifications to accomodate the ball detent and still achieve one half MOA clicks. I believe other commercial makers such as Fulton do the same but I have no actual examples to compare. HTH, 7zero1. |
