| what could be some reasons for my groups opening up? scared ill ruin the bed job if i remove the reciever so just cleanned the barrel, gas plug,piston,cylinder,....how hard is it to ruin a barrel? only has 1500 rounds thru it so im pretty sure it not shot out |
i thought it might be the scope so i tightend it up till it was flush with the inside of the reciever, and did the other as far as it would go..dont think it was copper i used bore tech eliminator till it came out dry then used some gunzilla to finish..the thing is pissin me off i was gettin 2 inch groups with FMJs and 1/8 inch with sierra 168s now its about 6(fmj) and havent tried the 168s...i used a gi cleaning rod twice because i heard it was suppose to do a better job(didnt notice)..so not sure if that might be the prob, also use moly bullets and just heard they might be corrosive

i personally skipped the nm piston,
i used a stock USGI piston, with a unitized gas system i found on the EE here for ~75 now, i just have to comment on youre tightening up of the scope screws- over torquing the rings may lead to problems in the scope, too much pressure and can throw off the cross hairs / internals over torquing the side screw on the mount can put too much side pressure on the receiver is your stock bedded? i dont bother removing mine from its stock to clean the barrel. |
