What's the scoop on Norinco and Polytech M1a rifles? Aren't some built with a forged reciever? Are they worth buying?

All Chinese M14s have forged receivers.

This thread may help you decide their worth: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=6&t=268663

All of my M14s are either 100% original Poly Tech or custom M14s built by SEI
on Poly Tech and Norinco receivers with a mix of USGI, SEI and Chinese parts.

Thanks, Larry.

Can we go one week without anyone asking about Chinese rifles/receivers, what ammunition is okay to use, and what scope mount to install?

We may be able to go 5 or 6 days, but a full week is asking a bit much

Dang.
Again.
Didnt we just do this?

Best thing you can do is study up on the info thats out there. Look over and handle m14 types from as many makers as you can and compare. Make a judgment based on your findings.

and thats all I got to say about that

stay safe

I have a Norinco M14.  It's got an awesome trigger.  I've never had any headspace issues.  My bolt is fine.  I did replace the stock with a G.I. fiberglass stock.  If I were looking for a M14/M1A rifle I would consider the Chinese rifle if the price were equal or less than a M1A.
