I am about to pull the trigger on a new SA NM M1A.  Before I buy, is it ready for a scope mount out of the box?  I don't plan on scoping it out yet, but I'd like to know if I will need to get a hole drilled for the mount itself or if it's RTG.

I appreciate it.

All you need is a mount, scope, and rings.

But please don't buy the Springfield Armory scope mount.

Just make sure the threads are cut all the way through. Ask me how I know.

Thanks.  I'm looking toward either the Smith or Sadlak mount for when I decide to mount it.  I'm a gonna stretch it's legs out with irons first.

So, I take it they didn't cut the threads the whole way through the reciever hole mount?
