ive been out of the buying loop for a while, and got an offer for a rifle thats for sale, this is the description i was sent. i will have to check the muzzle wear, condition, etc, but iam wondering about what kind of price is safe to pay now days?

Springfield armory ww2 m1 garand serial number 224xxxx


seller may also have a Inland M1 Carbine, which is something i do not have in my collection yet.  how good are the Inlands, and what kind of price range should i pay for one?

I'd try $5-600 on each if nice, The Garand if nice will probably get a bit more then that.

Condition is the biggest price qualifier, right up there with originality.

With the information given.........Garand - $600 - $900
                                              Inland - $500 - $800
Of course there are a lot of things that could change the above estimates.

Oh.......An Inland is a good Carbine.

Nice garands are headed for $1K - carbines $500 on up depending on make and condition.

I wouldn't really know, but I can tell you, it's not enough info.  Does it have lock bar sights?  Is it an arsenal rebuild?  Has the stock been refinished.  Is it all original?  

All that changes the price greatly.  I thought you already knew all that.

Same goes with the carbine.  Flips sight?  Bayo lug or not?  High wood stock (not likely), correct stock?  Etc. etc. etc.
