[ARCHIVED THREAD] - M14 Stocks

I am new to this forum and need some info on USGI Stocks. I am building a M1A Using Armscorp Recieve. If I use a USGI stock will there be a void where the mechanism for the full auto parts go.

Yes. more than likely. You can fill them in or, add a dummy button or selector.

be wary...fred's stocks is a toss up...there's a few who received their orders asap and more than a few who were charged right away and months later nada. You might need to register to view this link

Be aware that Fred's is a one man operation. I ordered two "Excellent Plus" stocks last year. Delivery was slow (two months); BUT, the stocks were better than I expected and he threw in a free front handguard. On top of all that, the price was very reasonable. Quality, price, and fast. If you can do with the first two, Fred's is for you.

I have placed two orders with Fred. One about 3 years ago-was never charged and never got anything. I heard he had gotten better so I placed another order this past September- still waiting....

I've had something similar happen to me.
But I've also ordered a stock from him and got it QUICK.
A really nice walnut stock at a great price within three days of making the order.

I ordered a couple of books, some targets and some m14 buttplates from him in January....still waiting. Paid by money order....Hope I can find the receipt.....

Regarding Fred's: the quality of the merchandise I've received has always been excellent, ( stocks and USGI trigger groups ) but one must sometimes exercise a great deal of patience waiting the delivery of an order.
